Upcoming Monthly Guild Meetings
Stitchpunk
In January-on January 27, at 6:30 pm, we will be having a Zoom presentation from Kestrel Michaud, a quilter/artist.
This presentation features a deep dive into her creative history and artistic process. Her award-winning quilts are the culmination of a lifetime of artistic growth, and the first half of this presentation explains how she got to where she is today. It's a biographical look at her artistic life from an early age through her late 20s.
The second half of "Kestrel's Creations" is about her process. She has used the same fundamental creative process for every fabric picture or quilt she's ever made, although her workflow underwent a major overhaul as she transitioned from analog to digital. Using behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the makings of multiple quilts, she will take us step-by-step through the process of her design in its entirety, from initial sketch to free-motion quilting.

Workshop Description: Ahead of class, each participant will provide a pet/animal photo to Lisa who will manipulate and prepare the image on cotton for use in their quilt. Lisa will discuss the process of creating these images and how to print on a home printer. After a demo of design and composition, each participant will create their own Pet Project Art Quilt. By workshop conclusion, everyone will have made their 12x12" art quilt to pop in a shadow box frame or to finish as desired. Two samples are shown.
The Meeting is at Glorieta at the Retreat.

Pre-Meeting Tables
From the time doors open to when the actual meeting starts, there will be representatives of different activities available. If you're visiting our guild for the first time, stop by the membership table to join our guild or just take a membership form home with you. Sign-ups for upcoming workshops or other activities are also usually available. And, if you have completed blocks of the month, drop them off and pick up your raffle tickets for the block of the month drawing.
Block of the Month
Each month there will be a specific block pattern to follow. For every block you bring to the meeting you will receive one raffle ticket to win all the blocks created by members. So, the more blocks you create, the more chances you have to win! For details on the current month's block, check the homepage.
